Goliath

The lad's mother is reviled as a whore, his half-brothers detest him and his employer wants to mess with him. Thus begins the story of David and Goliath as it might have been before the religious scribes got their hands on it. A tale of betrayal, love and impossible odds, not least when young David is pitched into an arena to fight a terrifying bull-headed colossus.

COMMENTS from the Harper Collins site, authonomy.com:

"A pacy story with a strong narrative flow and vivid characters - very polished"

"Wonderfully told, exciting and imaginative and a thundering good read"

COMMENT from the Arts Council-funded youwriteon.com:

"The deft period setting and dextrous weaving of significant moments without losing any contemporary tension have parallels in Wolf Hall"
